Eyelid Surgery
Virginia Beach
(Blepharoplasty)

Eyelid Surgery, called Blepharoplasty, is a surgical procedure to remove fat from the upper and lower eyelids. It removes puffy bags, pouches and the excess skin from under and over the eyes that gives that undesired tired look. As a focal point on your face, eyes have a tremendous impact on your appearance. The eyes are often the first place to show signs of aging. Many people have been amazed at the dramatic impact in their appearance resulting from eyelid surgery.

Before considering eyelid surgery, you should begin with a consultation at Plastic Surgery of Virginia Beach.

Is Eyelid Surgery (Blepharoplasty) right for me?

Every year thousands of people successfully undergo blepharoplasty. The decision to pursue eyelid surgery is a very personal and important one. The factors that will affect your decision and outcome are unique to you.

Our experience and expertise can make your choice a little easier. You can find out if this procedure is right for you by contacting our office for a consultation.

The Eyelid Surgery Procedure

Dr. Bounds may suggest one of several surgical techniques to improve the appearance of your eyelids. The technique that Dr. Bounds recommends will depend on a number of factors including the amount of fat and skin around the eyelids, the position and shape of your eyebrows, as well as the muscles around your eyelids. Because everyone is different, not everyone will have the same results. Dr. Bounds will select the surgical technique that he feels will result in the best outcome for you.

Typically, you should be able to read or watch television after two or three days. You should be able to return to work within four to seven days, depending on the level of activity required for your job. Aerobic activities will be restricted for two to three weeks. You may resume wearing contact lenses after two weeks.

What does eyelid surgery cost?

Because every person is different and has different needs we strongly urge that you set up a consultation with Dr. Bounds to discuss your needs. Dr. Bounds can then determine what needs to be done to achieve your desired results.
