Breast Lift

Gravity, pregnancy, weight gain, weight loss, breast-feeding and aging can all take a toll on a woman's breast. The firmness, elasticity and youthful positioning of the breasts can change over time. Mastopexy, also called a breast lift, is a surgical procedure to raise and reshape sagging breasts. Mastopexy can also reduce the size of an enlarged, stretched areola, which is the darker skin around the nipple. The best results are usually achieved in women whose weight is stable and have completed having children.

If you're considering breast lift surgery, the process begins with the consultation. In assessing your overall health and the physical characteristics of your breasts (such as the size, volume, symmetry, skin characteristics and nipple size) a plan can be formulated to achieve the best result for you.

The Surgery

As an outpatient, Dr. Bounds and his Board Certified or Board Eligible Anesthesiologist have your safety and comfort in mind. After surgery in the Operating Suite, you will awake from the surgery in the Recovery Room, attended by a Registered Nurse. Once you’re fully awake you may then go home with a family member or trusted close friend.

Typically you should be able to return to work within four to seven days, depending on the level of activity required for your job.
